Railroad Claims To Own Property Where Crossville Amphitheater Sits

The Norfolk Southern Railroad claims it owns land that runs behind the Crossville Amphitheater. Railroad officials have offered the city the opportunity to purchase the land, but Mayor Pro-Tem J.H. White County plans to use its $25,000 3-Star Competitive Grant to coordinate a program with the White County Library. The grant will fund a new program called E-STEAM, or Entrepreneurship-Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Woman Admits To Growing Marijuana At Her Home

A woman serving probation has admitted to growing marijuana at her Smithville home. 37-year-old Amanda Lynette Davis of Smithville is facing charges of manufacturing a schedule VI controlled substance and possession with the intent to sell or deliver a schedule VI drug. 3-Star Competitive Grants Awarded To 10 UC Counties

The state has awarded 10 Upper Cumberland counties with $160,000 in 3-Star competitive grant funding. The grants will be used for a variety of local programs addressing economic development, public safety, health, education and workforce development. Tractor Trailer Strikes Directional Sign On I 40

A chain-reaction wreck caused traffic to stall on Interstate 40 in Monterey this morning. The crashes occurred at the Exit 301 overpass in a construction zone. Monterey Man Facing Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

A Monterey man faces several charges following a traffic stop Saturday. A Tennessee Highway Patrolman conducted the traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to maintain lane. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Jarius Darnell Lemons, allegedly had 600 pills in bottles belonging to another person. Clay County Man Injured In Kentucky Crash

A Clay County man suffered critical injuries in a Cumberland County, Ky., crash Monday. Kentucky State Police said the crash happened just before noon on Kentucky 61 just south of Burkesville.
