White Co. Grant To Fund E-STEAM Program

White County plans to use its $25,000 3-Star Competitive Grant to coordinate a program with the White County Library.

The grant will fund a new program called E-STEAM, or Entrepreneurship-Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.

County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson said it’s similar to Tennessee Tech’s STEM Center.

“We are trying to raise the standard of living in White County and we are working hard in every avenue to make this happen,” Robinson said. “What this will do is help with the education of our children and introduce them to entrepreneurship. Own your own business. Be your own boss.”

Robinson said the program will be offered online at the library. Children and other community members will be able to take part in projects and experiments that are research and standard-based.
