Three Arrested After High Speed Chase Thursday Night

Three suspects arrested Thursday night after a high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended on Monterey’s Highway 70 North. Monterey Police Chief Bill Randolph said the vehicle drove through two spike strips before being stopped. Tractor Trailer Crashes Down I-40 Embankment

A Fed-Ex tractor trailer crashed through an Interstate 40 guardrail Thursday night going down an embankment. The driver, 36-year-old Leonel Salce-Guzman, and a passenger in the truck was not injured in the accident. It happened around 8:45pm Thursday night near mile marker 295. Monterey Will Reopen 3 Facilities Thursday

Monterey will reopen Meadow Creek Park, Bee Rock, and the City Walking Trail Thursday. Mayor Bill Wiggins said the moves follow Governor Lee’s decision to lift the statewide at-home order. Despite a reduction in the amount of water demand at its Monterey plant, Perdue Farms said that production continues at the location and there have been no layoffs. Despite the Covid-19 economic uncertainty, Monterey’s Water/Wastewater Committee wants to move forward with a rate increase. Bids Extended For Proposed Walking Trail In Monterey

The invitation to bid on Monterey’s proposed walking and biking trail construction has been extended to April 14th.
