The Rail Trail Authority is looking for funding to extend the Rail Trail from Algood to Monterey. The City of Algood will extend the trail half a mile to Main Street. Putnam Saved $3.6 Million In Interest

Putnam County refinanced its 2013 school bonds this week and saved some $3.6 million in interest. Two Monterey Men Face Evading Arrest Charges

Monterey Police tracked down two men after they escaped from officers early Saturday. Police located Patrick Cole Floyd entering a North Oak Street residence. As the officer tried to handcuff Floyd in the kitchen, another man entered the home. Patrick Scott Floyd assaulted the officer allowing both men to escape. The officer was not seriously injured. Extension Of Monterey’s Rail Trail Begins

The town of Monterey has broken ground on its Project Diabetes walking trail. The trail will connect Burks Elementary and Monterey High School to the existing trail. Monterey Man Killed In Clarkrange Hwy Wreck

A Monterey man was killed, two children injured in a two-vehicle collision along Clarkrange Highway Tuesday afternoon. 34-year-old Eric Kimball died when the vehicle he was driving crossed the center line as he tried to negotiate a curve.
