White County resident Jeffery Lynn Gentry faces federal charges of money laundering and wire fraud. The U.S. Attorney’s office said Gentry convinced more than 50 people to invest funds totaling $43 million. Investors lost more than $10 million. A chain-reaction wreck caused traffic to stall on Interstate 40 in Monterey this morning. The crashes occurred at the Exit 301 overpass in a construction zone. A Monterey man faces several charges following a traffic stop Saturday. A Tennessee Highway Patrolman conducted the traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to maintain lane. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Jarius Darnell Lemons, allegedly had 600 pills in bottles belonging to another person. A Clay County man suffered critical injuries in a Cumberland County, Ky., crash Monday. Kentucky State Police said the crash happened just before noon on Kentucky 61 just south of Burkesville. Add Cumberland Mountain State Park to the list of places celebrating next month’s solar eclipse. The park plans a triathlon for Sunday, Aug. 20. A Smithville man faces multiple charges after allegedly leaving notes at several places throughout DeKalb County, including five churches. 57-year-old Laddie Bill Jerrells faces 24 charges including vandalism, disorderly conduct, harassment, and desecration of honored places.
