Sparta Closer To Paving Roosevelt Drive

Sparta’s long-planned paving project is one step closer to reality. The city’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen accepted a bid to pave Roosevelt Drive from Spring Street to just past Allen Drive. Crossville Man Pleads Guilty To Child Abuse And Sexual Battery

A Crossville man will serve a lengthy term behind bars after pleading guilty to child abuse and sexual battery charges. The charges against 35-year-old Brock Justin Dunaway stem from a 2013 domestic violence incident that was investigated by the Crossville Police Department. Sparta Electric Outage Planned For Saturday

Sparta Electric will have a power outage Saturday night. All customers west of the White County Courthouse will be affected. The power will be disconnected in that area beginning at midnight. Gov. Bill Haslam announced Tennessee has historic low unemployment, but there may be more behind the numbers. Haslam said June’s statewide unemployment was 3.6 percent, the lowest in state history.
