THP Increases Cookeville Patrols This Week

There’s a few more troopers throughout the Cookeville District this week. THP Captain R.C. Christian said the Highway Patrol is doing special enforcement throughout the Cookeville District this week. Gentry Faces Federal Money Laundering, Wire Fraud Charges

White County resident Jeffery Lynn Gentry faces federal charges of money laundering and wire fraud. The U.S. Attorney’s office said Gentry convinced more than 50 people to invest funds totaling $43 million. Investors lost more than $10 million. Cumberland Mountain State Park Eclipse Events Planned

Add Cumberland Mountain State Park to the list of places celebrating next month’s solar eclipse. The park plans a triathlon for Sunday, Aug. 20. Smithville Man Arrested For Notes At Churches

A Smithville man faces multiple charges after allegedly leaving notes at several places throughout DeKalb County, including five churches. 57-year-old Laddie Bill Jerrells faces 24 charges including vandalism, disorderly conduct, harassment, and desecration of honored places.
