Bockman Way Sidewalk Project To Begin

Construction on Sparta’s Bockman Way will begin July 10. Sparta City Administrator Chris Dorsey said the project will improve sidewalks, storm drains, curbs and gutters along Bockman Way. A Sparta road project is out for bids. Sparta officials want to pave Roosevelt Drive. TDOT Stops Lane Closures For Holiday

Road construction won’t delay Tennessee travelers this weekend. TDOT spokesman Jennifer Flynn said the state will stop lane closures for road construction at noon Friday. Fireworks sales are booming across the state. Cookeville Police Major Carl Sells said fireworks can be set off from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 1 to July 5. Overton Taxes Stay The Same

Youths Take Mushrooms, Get Lost In Fentress County

Four youths got in trouble with the law after taking “magic mushrooms” and losing their car.
