Daniels: Celina Election Went Smoothly, 50% Turnout

Clay County Election Administrator Wanda Daniels said Celina’s election went smoothly. About 507 people voted in the election and that’s a good turnout, Daniels said. “Close to about 50 percent, we have 1,100-something in District 3, close to 50 percent,” Daniels said. McMinnville Woman Dies Following Tick Bite

A 20-year-old McMinnville woman has died from a reported tick bite. Health officials stated Katie Underhill died after a five-week battle with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Reportedly, the disease was first diagnosed as the flu. Smithville Water, Sewer Rates Going Up

Smithville water and sewer rates will go up next month. Leaders approved the increase as part of the budget process. The DeKalb Utility District will stop being a city water customer soon.
