An accident on I-40 eastbound was reported Tuesday morning just outside of Cookeville. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck a guard rail near Exit 290. A statement from the THP indicates injuries were reported. No word on the number of vehicles involved. The driver of the vehicle has not yet been identified and their condition is unknown. An investigation is underway in Putnam County after a man was found dead Monday evening. According to officials with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the unidentified man was found inside a vehicle parked at the Cookeville Walmart.
