Cookeville Man Arrested For Striking Stepson With Open Hand

A Cookeville man faces charges for allegedly striking his stepson with an open hand Tuesday. The Cookeville Police Department charged 41-year-old Jason Lee Stewart with child abuse and domestic assault. He has not posted $2,000 bond at this time. The Monterey Finance Committee recommended a three-cent property tax increase Tuesday night. Woman Arrested After Leaving Children At Algood Park

A Cookeville woman has landed behind bars for allegedly drinking alcohol and leaving four children at Algood Park. The Algood Police Department charged 28-year-old Juana Bartolome Miguel with child abuse and neglect Monday.
