A Cookeville man faces multiple charges after an altercation involving a prohibited weapon. Authorities arrested Alan Short, 29, for aggravated assault and possession of a prohibited weapon on Saturday. Short attempted to use his Chevrolet pickup as a weapon by hitting another vehicle. A northbound HWY 111 wreck near Algood injured one person yesterday evening. James Smith, 82, was traveling west on Old Highway 42 in a Ford F250. Smith came to the intersection of HWY 111 and attempted to cross the northbound lane to travel south. South Carolina Man Charged with Theft of Vehicle

Monterey City Police added an additional theft charge onto a South Carolina man yesterday. Officials initially arrested Nickolas Donaldson of Chester, SC, 35, for the possession of methamphetamine and public intoxication on September 8. Tracy Michell Fields Rodgers, 46, faces multiple charges after swallowing evidence and possessing drugs during a traffic stop Monday.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Jackson County woman for tampering with evidence after she swallowed a pill during a traffic stop Monday. Tracy Michelle Fields Rodgers, 46 of Granville, also faces simple possession, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia charges.
