Warren Co. Driver Testing Center To Remain Open

Warren County’s Driver Testing Center will officially remain open for at least another year. The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved an ordinance last night that keeps the center open until June 30th of next year. Train Strikes Pedestrian In Monterey

Putnam County officials have confirmed that a train struck a pedestrian in Monterey this afternoon. According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Grant Lane and Woodcliff Road. Authorities have not provided any additional details at this time. Two Airlifted After Wednesday Morning Crash

A head on collision sent two people to Vanderbilt Medical Center this morning. The crash happened around 7:45 a.m. at Highway 136 and Fisk Road. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said 42-year-old Jason Norton was traveling North on 136 near Fisk Road when he left the right side of the roadway. Putnam Co. Schools Releasing Report Cards Today

The Putnam County School System will begin issuing grades 3-12 report cards today. In a written statement, school officials said the TCAP TNReady scores for grades 3-8 and high school will not be part of the student’s final grade. Fire Destroys DeKalb County Home

A Monday afternoon fire destroyed a DeKalb County home. DeKalb County Volunteer Fire Department officials said the blaze broke out at a home on Rolling Acres Road off Cookeville Highway. Putnam County Gets New County Commissioner

Putnam County has a new County Commission member. The commission has chosen Jimmy Neal to fill out the unexpired term of 9th District commissioner Daryl Blair. Blair resigned earlier this year to focus on being Cookeville’s new fire chief. Putnam Commission Votes To Fund Health Insurance Increase

The Putnam County Commission voted to fund a $625,000 employee health insurance increase Monday night. Commission Rejects Land Purchase For New Fairgrounds

The Putnam County Commission voted down a recommendation Monday night to purchase 92 acres of property off of Interstate 40 for a new fairgrounds and expo center. Juvenile Killed In Warren County Crash

A two vehicle crash in Warren County has claimed the life of a Smyrna teenager. The crash happened at 9:30 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 70.
