Sparta Man Injured In Sunday Crash

A Sparta man suffered serious injuries in a single vehicle crash in DeKalb County Sunday. Tennessee Highway Patrol Sergeant Eric McCormick reports that 24-year-old Jackie Sullivan crashed his Ford Focus on Highway 70 east near Midnight Express. Man Sentenced To Six Years For Possessing Meth

A Crossville man will serve a 12 year prison sentence after pleading guilty to methamphetamine possession charges. 46-year-old Barry Keith Lail pleaded guilty possession of less than .5 grams of meth last week. Sunday Fire Causes Minor Damage To Businesses

A Sunday afternoon fire caused minor smoke damage to a number of Putnam County businesses. The Cookeville Fire Department received the call around 4:15 p.m. Sunday at the Jersey Mike’s Subs location on Jefferson Avenue. Putnam County’s fair property problems could be solved by the Tennessee State Fair. Tennessee State Fair and Exposition commissioners reportedly voted 9-0 to explore other cities to host the fair beginning in 2019.
