16th Traffic Fatality Reported In Warren County

Warren County suffered its 16th traffic fatality of the year Sunday. Authorities said the fatality occurred when a Toyota Scion crashed into a tree off Mullican Road. The deceased is identified as 21-year-old Lauren Bain. Her 9-year-old cousin suffered injuries and had to be airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital for treatment. The town of Algood has a new city council member. Algood Mayor Kirk Dyer and Councilwoman Carolyn Norris appointed Bill Bilbrey to fill one of three vacant city council seats Tuesday night. Walsh Sentenced To Life For Murdering And Dismembering Girlfriend

A Clay County man appeared in court today to be sentenced for his conviction of first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. A tractor trailer driver suffered injuries, but refused treatment after a crash on Interstate 40 this morning. Tractor Trailer Crash Stalls Traffic On Interstate 40 In Baxter

A jack-knifed tractor trailer has stalled the eastbound lanes of traffic on Interstate 40 in Baxter. The crash reported around 7:00 a.m. near miler marker 279. The left lane is currently closed at this time. Authorities said a tractor trailer hauling furniture jack-knifed in the median. One Airlifted Following Monday Morning Crash

A woman from Celina suffered injuries during a head-on collision on Gainesboro Grade Monday. 24-year-old Kayla Williams was airlifted to Skyline Medical Center following the crash.
