Uber, Lyft Offering Election-Day Rides, No Change for UCHRA Transit

Ride-share companies Uber and Lyft are looking to assist in getting voters to the polls Tuesday.

Both companies provide services within the Upper Cumberland with coverage areas depending on which ride-share company is chosen.

Uber is offering discounts based on the coverage area’s cheapest option, while Lyft has partnered with online media outlet BuzzFeed for its discount.

Uber covers most of Putnam County and most areas from Celina and Byrdstown to Sparta and Crab Orchard. Meanwhile, covers most of the region between Lebanon and Crossville, including Smithville, Carthage, McMinnville, and Spencer.

The Upper Cumberland Human Resources Agency (UCHRA) says their transit service is not offering discounts to polling locations in the region for Election Day.

Polling locations in the Upper Cumberland close at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
