After about four hours without water this morning, Monterey workers have restored services. Water Treatment Plant Supervisor Duane Jarrett said a 12-inch water line needed repairs after being struck by Volunteer Electric Cooperative workers. A water main break has left the majority of Monterey without water Monday morning. A 12-inch main line was struck during a project in the northern area of town. The Monterey Board of Aldermen to consider a match for a some $1 million TDOT grant in its December meeting. The Monterey Finance Committee has recommended the majority of the city’s remaining federal COVID money to be used for park improvements.
