More high speed internet access on the way to Cumberland County. A new $1.9 million grant announced Thursday will provide fiber access to 152 people, 33 farms and one business in Cumberland County. U Haul Truck Involved In I-40 Crash

A Tuesday afternoon crash along Interstate 40 sent a Murfreesboro man to Cumberland County Medical Center. 57-year-old Edward J. Matthews was driving a U-Haul box truck westbound around mile marker 325. Cumberland School Board Transfers Tower Land

Cumberland County School Board will transfer the land under the Homestead Tower to the county. The 0.7 acres directly around the tower was part of a 99-year lease. Cumberland County Commissioners Monday will consider amending the contract between the state, Department of Mental Health, and the county. The contract provides payment for treatments ordered by the justice system for misdemeanor defendants.
