Cumberland Mountain State Park to Reveal ADA Accessible Storybook Trail, Monument

Cumberland Mountian State Park will reveal the new ADA-accessible Storybook Trail and a Civilian Conservation Corps monument this evening. The Storybook Trail features excerpts from “Night-Night Forest Friends” by Annie Bach along the lakeside half-mile loop.  The trail connects the campground area to other components of the park, including the boathouse and recreation hall. Putnam County Continues Increase in Construction

Putnam County continues to see an increase in the number of building permits issued. According to County Executive Randy Porter, 29 permits were issued last month, with 20 being for single-family residential homes. Upper Cumberland Electric Sends Crews To North Carolina

Two construction crews from Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation will be involved in Hurricane Florence relief efforts. The crews responded on Friday to Burgaw, North Carolina to help Four County Electric with power restoration efforts.
