Overton County Hosting Hazardous Waste Collection Event

Overton County will host a household hazardous waste collection event on Saturday. Residents and non-residents can participate by bringing hazardous items to the fairgrounds until Noon. Nostrom Murder Trial Rescheduled

A Cumberland County judge has rescheduled the trial for a man charged with killing his ex-wife and another man last year. Warren Nostrom faces two counts of first-degree murder. He remains behind bars on $4 million bond. Authorities arrested the 74-year-old after he allegedly shot and killed 58-year-old Joy Nostrom and 54-year-old Mark Gunter. Cookeville Police arrested a foreign national Tennessee Tech student on Thursday for charges of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. An arrest warrant accuses Tatsushi Shibata of downloading three videos containing pre-pubescent females engaging in sexual activity. Richardson Sues White County Over False Arrest

A Sparta man has filed a civil rights lawsuit against White County after his false arrest last year. A sheriff’s deputy arrested Ronnie Richardson for charges of selling and delivering methamphetamine.
