Texas Felony Fugitive Arrested In Putnam County

The Tennessee Highway Patrol on Wednesday arrested a convicted sex offender from Texas. State Troopers came in contact with 48-year-old Byron Dion Wheeler during a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Putnam County. Baxter Man Allegedly Knocks Teen Nephew Unconscious

A Baxter man allegedly strangled and knocked his 16-year-old nephew unconscious Wednesday. Sheriff’s deputies charged Larry R. Hopkins with aggravated assault. He’s under a $41,000 bond at the Putnam County Jail. Hopkins was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when the assault occurred.
