38-year-old Larry R. Hopkins is charged with aggravated assault after using his closed fist to render his 16-year-old nephew unconscious Wednesday.

Baxter Man Allegedly Knocks Teen Nephew Unconscious

A Baxter man allegedly strangled and knocked his 16-year-old nephew unconscious Wednesday.

Sheriff’s deputies charged Larry R. Hopkins with aggravated assault. He’s under a $41,000 bond at the Putnam County Jail.

Hopkins was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when the assault occurred. Deputy Chad Martin’s report stated Hopkins used his hands to strangle the teen and a closed fist to render the victim unconscious. The deputy noted marks and scratches that could be seen on the victim’s neck and back.

The 38-year-old Hopkins also faces an assault charge for allegedly threatening to kill an 18-year-old female at the scene.
