Cookeville City Manager Mike Davidson received a 3-percent salary increase during Thursday night’s city council meeting. The Baxter Police Department are looking for a man who allegedly passed counterfeit money at a local business today. Police Chief Danny Holmes said the incident has taken place twice. Lebanon Man Arrested For Assaulting City Councilman

Illinois authorities have arrested a Lebanon man wanted for robbing and assaulting a Carthage City Councilman earlier this year. 40-year-old Booker T. Spence is facing charges of aggravated assault and aggravated robbery. Carthage Police officials report that Spence robbed and assaulted Councilman Phillip Brooks at this home in January. State Adds New Attendance Indicator To Report Cards

Beginning this school year the state will begin using a new accountability measure called the Chronically Out-of-School Indicator. The indicator will place a larger emphasis on attendance when school districts and schools are given performance scores. Rock Island Man Struck And Killed By Vehicle Saturday

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the Rock Island man who was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday night. The THP says 36-year-old Paul T. Ward was standing beside a disabled vehicle when he was struck by an oncoming 2008 Toyota. The driver of the Toyota was identified as 23-year-old Sarah Simmons. Parole Denied For May

A 21-year-old DeKalb County resident will have to serve at least two more years behind bars. A parole board has denied release for Jessica May, who is currently serving an eight-year sentence for attempted aggravated child neglect.
