A 21-year-old Smithville man has admitted to drinking prior to crashing his vehicle on Highway 111 Friday morning. Dallas Texas authorities have arrested a Smithville man wanted for stealing $80,000 in jewelry from a Franklin business last October. Putnam County authorities arrested two people Monday for charges related to a November 2018 fire. Arrest warrants charge 28-year-old Tabatha Marie Shown and 53-year-old Kenneth Levon Teeples with arson and two counts of aggravated burglary.
