A grand jury  indicted an Algood man on an aggravated animal cruelty charge Monday. The Algood Police Department reports Corey Marc Mullins was charged after beating his dog to death. Putnam Building Permits Up, Costs Down in October

Putnam County saw another increase in building permits issued but a slight decrease in construction costs in October. County Executive Randy Porter says 38 total permits were issued last month, up slightly from August and September. The Franklin Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a Smithville man wanted for stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewelry. Police say 18-year-old Jario Godinez was caught on surveillance video stealing nearly one dozen tennis bracelets from a salesperson.
