Monterey High Bringing Back Vintage Design With Help From Student

A Monterey High School student is helping the school revamp a vintage t-shirt design from the 70s.

Junior Bryleigh Walker said school administration asker her to breathe new life into the design for a new generation. She the gear was originally just in hoodie form and only available in one location.

“I thought this would be a great opportunity to show more to the town what I do,” Walker said. “And something that I can add to my portfolio for art school.”

Walker is a graphic designer and said she has done freelance work similar to this in the past. She said the design will feature the wildcat mascot.

Walker said the process took her two hours. She said all she used was her iPad and a program called ProCreate.

“And it was just as easy as that,” Walker said. “It’s something I’ve done before and figured it could help continue with what I’m hoping to continue as a graphic designer.”

Walker said they expect to open up sales in early January.
