The Tennessee Highway Patrol arrested a man Saturday after he led troopers on a high speed pursuit with a 2-year-old inside the vehicle. The chase began on Interstate-40 just after 10:00 a.m. near mile marker 273 in Putnam County. The trial for a man accused of killing a former Cumberland County resident began today. Caleb Cannon is charged in the 2014 death of 36-year-old Nikki Burgess. Burgess disappeared in Nashville and a former cellmate told investigators that Cannon confessed to killing Burgess and dumping her body in Knoxville. Her body has never been found.
