Crab Orchard Mobile Home Fire Injures One Person

One person suffered injuries during a Thursday morning house fire in Crab Orchard. Cumberland County Fire Department officials said a mobile home caught fire on Chestnut Hill Road. Group Falls Short In Cookeville Referendum Effort

The November election ballot will not include a referendum seeking to overturn a Cookeville City Council rezoning ordinance. A group opposing the rezoning on West 9th and North Franklin Avenue failed to gather more than 2,000 signatures needed to place the referendum on the ballot. The Tennessee Division of Forestry opened a new $1.2 million facility in Crossville Wednesday.
