Incumbent Kelly Keisling secures re-election for a Tennessee House of Representative seat. Keisling will continue to represent Tennessee District 38, which includes Clay, Pickett, and part of Fentress Counties. State Representative Incumbent Paul Sherrell has won his re-election campaign in the state’s 43rd district. Sherrell defeated Democratic challenger Les Trotman, who was endorsed by Cookeville Mayor and son-in-law Ricky Shelton. Windle Wins Close Race for TN State House

Incumbent John Windle won a close race for 41st Tennessee State House District. Democrat Windle and Republican Ed Butler underwent a neck-in-neck race with approximately a 400 vote difference. Windle defeated Butler by obtaining approximately 55 percent of the votes. The 41st district represents Jackson, Overton, and part of Fentress County. Read More »

Ray Spivey Wins Doyle Mayoral Race

The citizens of Doyle have selected Ray Spivey as their mayor in the only contested race in White County Tuesday. Spivey defeated challenger Wayne Kress to earn his second-consecutive term as mayor. Ryan Williams will continue to represent Tennessee House of Representatives District 42. Republican Williams defeated Democrat Terry Scott by obtaining 69 percent of the votes. The Tennessee House of Representatives District 42 includes a portion of Putnam County. Read More »

Spencer Voters Pass Liquor Referendum

Spencer voters have passed a liquor referendum allowing retail package sales in town. The referendum passed by only 31 votes, with 323 voters electing to legalize liquor sales over 291 against the motion. A similar referendum failed among Fentress County voters Tuesday. Read More »

Robinson Re-Elected, Tight Alderman Race Decided in Spencer

Mickey Robinson has won his re-election bid for the Spencer mayor race while the aldermen race came down to the wire.
