Incumbent John Windle won a close race for 41st Tennessee State House District. Democrat Windle and Republican Ed Butler underwent a neck-in-neck race with approximately a 400 vote difference. The citizens of Doyle have selected Ray Spivey as their mayor in the only contested race in White County Tuesday. Spivey defeated challenger Wayne Kress to earn his second-consecutive term as mayor. Spencer voters have passed a liquor referendum allowing retail package sales in town. The referendum passed by only 31 votes, with 323 voters electing to legalize liquor sales over 291 against the motion. A similar referendum failed among Fentress County voters Tuesday. Read More »
