Monterey Looks To Add Sidewalks At Burkes Elementary

Monterey is looking to add and repair sidewalks around town. Cookeville Woman Charged with Aggravated Assault

Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies charged a Cookeville woman with aggravated assault Wednesday. Authorities booked Alyssa Phillips, 23, into the Putnam County Jail on a 25 thousand dollar bond. Monterey Committee Votes To Extend Trail

The Monterey Building and Grounds Committee voted Thursday to extend the town’s rail trail from Walnut Street to Oak Street. 11-year-old Harley Evans was a student at Hermitage Springs Elementary School in Clay County. Evans was killed after being shot at her home early Monday morning.

Faculty and students at Hermitage Springs Elementary School in Clay County are mourning the loss of 11-year-old Harley Evans. Evans was fatally shot at her home Monday by 29-year-old Jacob Snyder while her father, Justin Evans, and her father’s girlfriend suffered injuries. Over 11,700 people have cast their votes for the 2018 midterm elections in Putnam County as early voting draws to a close. A Putnam County judge has sentenced Martell Smith of Memphis to 30 years for selling and delivering a controlled substance in a school zone.
