Algood Police officers made two heroin arrests during separate incidents Friday. The first incident occurred when authorities arrested Jonathon Clark and Derrick Griffin at Speedway. DeKalb Receives Industrial Site Development Grant

DeKalb County has received a $235,000 site development grant from the state. The funding will be used to improve the Moog Boulevard property for industrial use. Cookeville PD Accepting Bids For Pre-Construction Work On New HQ

The Cookeville Police Department (CPD) has begun accepting bids for pre-construction services for its new headquarters. CPD requires general contractors to submit bids by the Aug. 1 deadline. Former Super Bowl Player From Sparta Dies Thursday

A Sparta resident who played in Super Bowl VI died Thursday. 70-year-old Dale Farley passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Farley played outside linebacker for the Miami Dolphins during their 1972 Super Bowl VI appearance. The Dolphins drafted Farley in the third round of the 1971 NFL draft.
