Pickett Budget Committee Approves 74-Cent Property Tax Increase

Pickett County’s budget committee has re-approved a 74-cent property tax increase to address budget shortfalls. A Cookeville man faces multiple charges after allegedly assaulting two women Monday. Authorities arrested 19-year-old Dunken Deshaun Thornton for aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, and domestic assault.
