One Flown To Vanderbilt After Morning Accident

A wrong-way accident early Wednesday morning resulted in one person being taken to Vanderbilt hospital by air. Spray-Painting Vandals Sought

Social media may help police track down some vandals. Monday night, Cookeville Mayor Ricky Shelton shared pictures and video of individuals spray-painting vulgar images and messages on the CityScape trailer and a historic building on West Broad Street. Cumberland Library Eclipse Glasses May Not Be Safe

Eclipse glasses from Cumberland County’s Art Circle Public Library may not be safe. County Mayor Kenneth Carey Jr.’s office released a statement Tuesday asking people to not use the glasses to view the eclipse. The glasses were purchased through Amazon. Sparta’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen will have a meeting and work session Thursday. The regular meeting will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday at city hall. Austin To Serve 20 Years On Drug Charge

A White County judge sentenced a Sparta man on drug charges. Steven Austin, 32, pled guilty to possession with the intent to sell or deliver over .5 grams of methamphetamine. Clay County Road Named For Veteran

State Route 294 in Clay County has been named for a Korean War veteran. C. Reagan was also a lifelong Clay County resident. He passed away in June 2017. Rep.
