Cumberland K-9 Gets New Vest

Cumberland County Sheriff’s K-9 has a new vest. K-9 officer Niko recently received the vest from a nonprofit called Vested Interest in K9s Inc. The vest is bullet and stab protective. Scammers Now Speaking Spanish

Since scammers began using Spanish, the Cookeville Police have too. Months ago, scammers began calling Cookeville residents, claiming to be the electric department and threatening to disconnect if the resident didn’t make a big payment over the phone. Financial Literacy Program For Teachers At Tech Oct. 21

State representatives will host a financial literacy program for teachers later this month at Tennessee Tech. Cookeville Soldier Injured In Ft. Jackson Accident

An Upper Cumberland soldier was among the injured in an accident at Fort Jackson, S.C. Friday. Pvt. Benjamin Key of Cookeville and five other soldiers were injured. Pvt. Alan Michael Kryszak of Clarksville was also injured. Two soldiers were killed. Injured soldiers were taken to hospitals off base, according to the Army.
