New Findlay Solves Two Problems For White Co. BOE

A new Findlay Elementary School solves two problems for White County Schools.

The current Findlay needs updates and the Board of Education doesn’t own the central offices building.

“We haven’t updated Findlay in a significant way over the past many decades so it’s the next one on the list, so long story short, as you’ve seen in the news, we’re looking at building another Findlay Elementary School so that answered the problem of the central office we could move that over there,” Director Kurt Dronebarger said.

The county and board of education are currently working on a “land swap” to get the project complete.

“The land Findlay will be on, next to the existing Findlay, and that’ll be where Findlay is and in that swap, we’ll trade school zone land where the old middle school was, that property over there,” Dronebarger said.

Construction should begin in December. Dronebarger said taxes wouldn’t be raised to pay for the project. The same architect and contractor will be used on the middle school sports complex. Construction will also begin on that project in December.
