White Co. Schools: Ready For Learning Monday

Only White County Schools will be in session Monday for the eclipse. Cookeville PD: Arrive Early At Eclipse Viewing Location

Cookeville Police have issued suggestions for residents and visitors alike for Monday’s solar eclipse. Major Carl Sells said folks should arrive early to their viewing destination and don’t pull off to the side of the road to view the eclipse. Four Arrested In Vandalism Incident

Four youths face misdemeanor vandalism charges after a vandalism incident Sunday. Cookeville Police Major Carl Sells said four young adults were arrested Thursday in connection with the incident. He said a fifth suspect will be arrested soon. The individuals are accused of spray-painting a historic building and the CityScape trailer on Cookeville’s Historic West Side early Sunday morning.   Read More »

A decision on pay raises for employees continued to cast a shadow two months later at the Tennessee Tech Board of Trustees. Cookeville NAACP Holds Vigil Saturday

The Cookeville branch of the NAACP will hold a candelight vigil at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Putnam County Courthouse. Cumberland Reverses Course, Closes For Eclipse

Cumberland County students will be out of school Monday after the administration reversed course. Director of Schools Janet Graham released a statement Wednesday evening that said challenges posed by the eclipse will prevent the schools from opening Monday.
