Crossville Approves Application For Transportation Grant

The Crossville City Council gave approval Wednesday night to apply for a $1.3 million Transportation Alternatives Grant Program. The program is designed to help communities perform repairs on pedestrian and bicycle right-of-ways, pedestrian signals, and street lights. Three Arrested In Armed Robbery At Jere Whitson Park

Cookeville Police have arrested three men from Georgia in connection to a Tuesday morning armed robbery at Jere Whitson Park. 21-year-old Dendre Denzel Middleton, 20-year-old Michael Wade Chapman, and 21-year-old Zavarious Jacquez Thomas are charged with aggravated robbery. A fire destroyed a home  on Walnut Street in Gainesboro today. Allardt FD To Purchase New Tanker Truck With CDBG Grant

The Allardt Fire Department will be getting a new tanker truck thanks to a Community Development Block Grant. Henderson Tennessee Man Charged With Statutory Rape in DeKalb Co.

A DeKalb County Grand jury has indicted a Henderson Tennessee man on a charge of statutory rape. The indictment alleges that 27-year-old Michael Andrew Heidelburg had sexual relations with a 16-year-old girl between May of last year and February of this year. Smith County Man Killed In Tuesday Morning Crash

An early Tuesday morning crash in Smith county has taken the life of a Pleasant Shade man. 43-year-old Johnny L. Thomas was killed when his 2014 Ford Mustang traveled off the side of Dean Hill Road and struck a culvert.
