Head Of Jackson Commissioners To Oversee County In Interim

The head of the Jackson County Commissioners will lead county government until a succession plan for County Mayor Bobby Kinnaird can be put in place. Weather Delaying Final Work At New Interchange

Weather has delayed texture coating and pressure washing of the new Mine Lick Creek Road interchange along Interstate 40. The exit opened several weeks ago with one lane of traffic over Interstate 40. Jordi Remains Jailed In Mankato

The man accused of killing his father in Sparta March 8th remains in the Blue Earth County Jail Sunday under $1.5 million bond. 21-year-old Joshua Nathanial Jordi, a student at Minnesota State University, faces first degree murder charges. Cookeville Pedestrian Remains In Critical Condition

The Cookeville man hit by a vehicle Thursday as he walked along North Washington Avenue remains in critical condition Saturday. Ad. E Landers transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center after the accident. Cookeville Police reports his condition as critical but stable. Landers suffered head injuries in the accident. Monterey, Livingston Seasons End

The basketball season ended for the Upper Cumberland Friday afternoon as the Monterey Wildcats and the Livingston Academy Wildcats lost in the state boys semifinals. Putnam One Of 3 Counties With Perfect Audit

The Tennessee Comptroller Office gave Putnam County a clean audit report with no findings. Putnam County stands as one of just three counties across the state with what the Comptroller calls a “distinctive honor.” Lincoln and Loudon Counties also received clean audits. 13 counties, including Putnam County, received clean audits. Jackson County Mayor Passes Thursday Night

Following a long battle with lung cancer, Jackson County Mayor Bobby Kinnaird passed away Thursday night. Kinnaird died on his 66th birthday. He will be cremated and no services are planned. Kinnaird won election to the county mayor’s seat in 2010, winning election by 80 votes. Born in Laurel MS, Kinnaird served in the National Guard. Read More »

Pedestrian Struck On North Washington, Critical Condition

A 65-year old Cookeville man remains in critical condition after being hit by a truck Thursday. Ad E. Landers was walking southbound on North Washington Avenue, crossing Broad Struck.
