Mrs. Laura Ann Burnsworth, age 59 of Cookeville, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Mrs. Burnsworth was born Friday, September 29, 1961, in Johnson City, NY, the daughter of Robert (Glenna) Litwin and the late Sandy Szewczak Bowls. Laurie was the sweetest, amazing, most beautiful person inside and out. She was the best sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She loved all of her family, friends, and her puppy so much. She loved volunteering at the elementary schools and did this for 13 years. She loved attending church of the Nazarene and her church family. Laurie is already missed dearly. Survivors include sisters, Donna (Jerry) Bonds, Debi (Bruce) Palmer, Erica (Bobby) Walker; brothers, Robbie (Ann) Litwin, Ryan (Miranda) Hurd. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry.

Ms. Llewelleyn Ellert, age 70 of Cookeville, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Her wishes of cremation are being honored. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.. Ms. Ellert was born July 8, 1951, in Suffern, NY, to the late Leroy and Bertha Wright Van Dunk. She was a homemaker and of the Presbyterian faith. She enjoyed crocheting and watching Gunsmoke on TV. Llewelleyn mostly enjoyed being with family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Halonna “Holly” James of Baxter, Michelle DeGroat of North Carolina; three sons, Michael DeGroat, Jr., Micah DeGroat, and Merle DeGroat, all of Cookeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 daughters Wenonah DeGroat, Shawn Martinez and Chenna Spivey. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Baxter chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home to help with  funeral expenses.

Mr. Rickey Allen Winemiller, age 63 of Crossville, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Winemiller chose cremation, and the family followed his wishes. He will be inurned in Evansville, IN. He was born Monday, January 27, 1958, in Evansville, IN, the son of the late Lyman Winemiller and the late Bonnie Brown Winemiller. Rick was employed by Local Union 561 for 35 years as a construction laborer building electric powerhouses. He was a son, husband, father, and grandfather. Rick was a very funny man who enjoyed telling jokes. He was a big teddy bear, getting along with everybody that crossed his path. Everyone loved him. He enjoyed fishing, playing softball, watching basket ball, and playing spades. Most of all, he loved the Lord and his family. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Winemiller of Crossville; two sons, Joshua Burton of Evansville, IN, and Tommy (Jennifer) White of Evansville, IN.

Graveside services for Mrs. Beatrice “Bea” England, age 87 of Monterey, will be conducted Friday, September 24, at 9:00 AM, at the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. England passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, at her home. She was born Sunday, July 15, 1934, in Monterey, the daughter of the late Coleman and Nina Wilson Buckner. Mrs. England was a homemaker, garment factory worker, and a cook at the hospital and nursing home. She loved to cook for her family and friends, and canning fruits and vegetables. She also loved quilting, flowers and birds. She was a member of the Second Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband Of 70 Years, William “James” England of Monterey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Anderson. The family will receive friends at Welch Memorial Cemetery on Friday, September 24.

Graveside services for Mrs. Melva Fields Lewis, age 90 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, September 23, at 10:00 am at the Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Lewis passed away Saturday, September 17, 2021. She was born in Putnam County on February 26, 1931, to the late Ola and Elizabeth (Watts) Fields. Survivors include her beloved daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly Lewis (Adam Markowitz) of Titusville, FL, and Teresa Lewis (Charles “Buck” Donnelly) of Napa, CA. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dewey K. Lewis, whom she married in 1948. The family will welcome friends at the graveside, Friday at 9:30 am. Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Magnolia Chaffin, age 87 of Sparta, will be Friday, September 24, at 1:00 PM, at Presley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Baxter. Mrs. Chaffin passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at St. Thomas Mid Town Hospital in Nashville. Born Sunday, July 1, 1934, in Gainesboro, she was the daughter of the late Haskall Dyer and the late Flossie Pippin Dyer. Ella was an loving wife, mother, grandmother, great -grandmother, and great, great-grandmother. She worshiped at the Baxter Church of Christ. She was an excellent homemaker, caring for her disabled husband and their children. She kept a beautiful home and being very sociable, she entertained guests in their home and fellowshipped over a home cooked meals. Ella enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking. It has been said that she made “the best lemon meringue pies.” She liked country, gospel and bluegrass music. Most of all she loved the Lord, family, and all her grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Thomas Durell Chaffin of Sparta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tilman Chaffin of 59 blessed years, and a daughter, Betty Connors. The family will receive friends Friday, September 24, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Presley Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dimple Allison Howell, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, September 24, at 1 PM, at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Howell passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at her home. She was born May 25, 1939, in Putnam County to the late William Herbert and Maggie Virginia Sullivan Allison. Dimple attended Boiling Springs School, and was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a retired seamstress with Red Kap of Cookeville with 40 years of service. Dimple enjoyed gardening, canning, working on the farm and taking care of the cows. Survivors include a son, Kelvin Douglas Howell of Cookeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Carlos D. Howell. The family will receive friends Thursday until 8 PM, and Friday after 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Mr. James Henry Davis, age 68 of Sparta, will be Friday, September 24, at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery. Mr. Davis passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, in Nashville. He was born March 28, 1953, to the late Odas and Fancie Davis of Sparta. Survivors include a son, Chad Davis; and a daughter, Amy Walters.

A memorial service for Mr. Billy Joe Huff, age 58 of Baxter, will be held Saturday, September 25, at 11:00 AM, at Presley Funeral Home. Mr. Huff passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. He was born March 6, 1963, in McPherson, KS, to the late Jimmy Huff and Alma Obert Huff. Billy enjoyed large game hunting and fishing for anything that would bite his hook. He loved his family, and enjoying spending time with all the grandchildren. He was an awesome Pepaw, teaching the boys all that he knew, including truck and tractor noises. Most importantly, he loved the Lord. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Roxanne Eldridge Huff; two sons, William (Amber) Huff of Baxter and Adrian Huff of Somerset, KY. In addition to his father, Billy was preceded in death by son, Trenton Wayne Huff.

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Rhonda Lynn Medley, age 53 of the Grimsley community of Fentress County, will be held Saturday, September 25, at 11:00 AM at the Isoline Baptist Church in Crossville. Mrs. Medley passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Monday, April 1, 1968, in Crossville, to Ronnie Bridges of Grimsley, and the late Nancy Henline Bridges. Rhonda was a homemaker. She loved her family and enjoyed being involved in their lives. She was a member of Isoline Baptist Church. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 32 years, Charles Medley Of Grimsley; a daughter and son-in-law, Brigitte and Spencer Delk of Monterey; a son and daughter-in-law, C.J. And Marli Medley Of Grimsley. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Scott Bridges. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.

Funeral services for Mr. Stanley A. Miller, age 27 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, September 25, at 11 AM, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Miller passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, in Cookeville. He Miller was born  April 2, 1994, to Albert and Cindy Miller in Chardon, Ohio. Stanley loved spending time with his siblings. He also enjoyed fishing, hiking, flowers, bird watching, and kayaking. Survivors include his parents, Albert and Cindy Miller of Cookeville; sisters, Lorene (Leonardo)  Gregorczuk of Michigan, and Melissa Miller of Cookeville; brothers, Dwayne Miller and Alfred Miller, both of Cookeville. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 24, from 4 PM – 8 PM at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Don Wallace, age 69 of the Hickory Valley community of White County, will be conducted Saturday, September 25, at 11:00 am, from the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Mr. Wallace passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville. He was born February 10, 1952, in Hickory Valley, to Anna Marie Graham Wallace and the late Arzie Casto Wallace. He was a former dairy farmer and factory worker at S&S Screw. Bobby liked work whether he was cutting hay, milking cows or taking care of his yard. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by a brother Jerry Wallace. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Judy Wallace; three daughters, Donna Rodgers and husband, Robin, Stacy Hughes, Tammy Williams and husband, Billy; his mother, Marie Wallace. The family will receive friends Friday, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Hunter Funeral Home

Funeral services for Ms. Gladys Thompson Burgess, age 88 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, September 25, at 12 noon, at Life Church in Cookeville. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery. Ms. Burgess passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at her home. She was born September 29, 1932, in Putnam County, to the late Robert “Bob” Thompson and Clara Green Thompson. Gladys was retired bookkeeper at Tutco. She was a member of Life Church and active in the jail ministry. Gladys was a loving encourager and a dedicated prayer warrior. She is survived by two sons, Gary (Jeanie) Burgess, Rick (Chris) Burgess; daughter, Connie (Harold) Simcox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jamie and Greg Burgess. Her family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Funeral services for Mrs. Devonia Brotherton McGee, age 96 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, September 25, at 12:00 p.m., at Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. McGee passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021, at her residence. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services for Mr. William Hollis Brock, age 56 of of Sparta, will be held Saturday, September 25, at 1:00 P.M. at Thurman Funeral Home. Mr. Brock passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Hospital. He was born August 22, 1965, in White County, to the late James and Retha Brock. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Joyce Brock. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 12:00 P.M. till 1:00 P.M. at Thurman Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Max Crabtree, age 81 of Livingston, will be conducted Saturday, September 25, at 1 PM, from First Baptist Church in Livingston. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Mr. Crabtree passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was born in Overton County on August 11, 1940, to the late James William Crabtree, Sr. and Dillie Cargile Crabtree. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Livingston. Max loved his family more than anything and always enjoyed talking with people. He loved traveling and loved serving his church on the Building and Grounds Committee. Survivors include his wife, Nina Ledbetter Crabtree of Livingston; daughter Angela Crabtree Talbert and husband, David, of Cookeville; son, Brian Max Crabtree and wife, Heather, of Nolensville. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of services at 1 PM. Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Dulworth, age 37 of Moss, and formerly of Livingston, will be held on Saturday, September 25, at 2 PM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home in Celina. Burial to follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Clay County. Mr. Dulworth passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Livingston on Saturday, March 17, 1984, to Thomas and the late Kathy (Scott) Dulworth. Wayne was a sawmill worker for many years. He loved his wife and children very much. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his parents, Thomas and Melissa Dulworth; wife, Brandie Dulworth; one daughter: Katie Dulworth; two sons, Thomas N. Dulworth and Isiah Dulworth. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home Friday, September 24, from 4 PM until 8 PM.

Funeral services for Mr. Carl Edward Emerton, Sr., age 78 of Smithville, and formerly of Sparta, will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 PM, from the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Emerton passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville. He was born December 2, 1942, in Sparta, to the late William Franklin and Bessie Marie Emerton. He retired from General Motors in Anderson, IN in 1994, where he also a proud member of the UAW. He loved watching westerns and football games on television, but his favorite time was spent with the ones that knew him as Papa, his grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter Kathy (Cliff) Lawson; one son, Carl (Jamie) Emerton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Marjory Browning Emerton; two sons Kevin Emerton and Darrin Emerton. The family will receive friends Friday, from 4-8:00 PM, in the Quarles Room of Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Jose Martinez, age 47 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, September 25, from 3-6 p.m.  in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will be in Guatemala. Mr. Martinez passed Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

A visitation for Mr. David F. Mutchmore, age 59 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, September 25, from 3 to 5 pm at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Mutchmore passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. His wishes of cremation have been honored. He was born April 12, 1962, in Illinois, to Barbara Page Mutchmore of Cookeville and the late O. L. “DOC” Mutchmore. He graduated from Milligan College with a master’s degree in education. David and his family moved to Cookeville in 2007, and he began work with the State of Tennessee as a Social Counselor in January, 2008. David enjoyed baseball, fishing and spending time with family and friends, especially his son. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife of 26 years, Melinda Barker Mutchmore; and one son, MacKinley “Mack” Mutchmore, both of Cookeville.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sherry Evon Davis Goines, age 58 of Sparta, will be conducted Sunday, September 26, at 2:00 p.m., from the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lower Cherry Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Goines passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was born January 19, 1963, in LaFollette, TN, to the late Dainter and Janice Easteridge Davis. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed listening to music, and appointment television programs were The Voice and The Walking Dead. She liked going for car rides in the country, but her most favorite time was spent with her beloved grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Stephanie Knowles, Jackie Goines, and Jennifer Goines, all of Sparta. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Goines, and a son, Gregory Goines. The family will receive friends Sunday from noon until 2:00 p.m., at Hunter Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Mrs. Johnnie Mae Roberts, age 88 of Sparta, will be held Sunday, September 26, at 2:00 PM, at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Roberts passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021. She was born June 28, 1933, in Sarah, MS, the daughter of the late Morris and Grace Whitsell Bell. Survivors include two sons, Carl Roberts and Gordon Roberts (Gloria), both of Sparta; three daughters, Deborah Skaggs (Grady), Sheila Katalinic (Frank), and Rhonda Taylor (Mike), all of Akron, OH.I n addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Roberts.

Funeral services for Ms. Peggy Sue Cook Schopieray, age 55 of Cookeville, will be held on Sunday, September 26, at 3 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County. Ms. Schopieray passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born March 1, 1966, in Jackson County, to the late Edward Draper Cook and Bonnie Helen Bull Cook Burton. Survivors include two brothers, James Cook of Cookeville, and Tim Burton of Baxter; one sister, Janet Hamby of Cookeville. Military graveside services for Dwight Glendon Herald, age 77 of Cookeville, will be held Monday, September 27, at 10:00 AM, at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Herald passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Survivors include his wife, Sue Herald; children, Demie Garrett, Daniel (Danielle) Herald and Deanna (Tony) Speck; step-son, Greg (Maria) Wray. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nulin and Maggie Herald. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 26, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life gathering for Mr. James Boswell, age 76 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, September 29, from 5:00 PM Until 7:00 PM from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Mr. Boswell passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Boswell Was born Thursday, March 8, 1945, in Monterey, the son of the late James Norman And Erma Lena Hoover Boswell. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and a self-employed brick mason. Survivors include his wife of 52 Years, Christine Pretlove Boswell of Cookeville;  one daughter And son-in-law, Annabel and Todd Mainord of Cookeville; two sons and daughters-in-law, James “Jay” and Christy Boswell of Cookeville, John And Terri Boswell of Walling. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 29, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Goff Funeral Home.

A memorial service for Mr. Harold “Ben” Benjamin Bowman, age 52 of Cookeville, is scheduled for Sunday, October 3, at 2:00 pm,  at the Mineral Springs Baptist Church, located in Pell City, AL. Mr. Bowman passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Tuesday, May 20, 1969, in Pell City, AL, the son of Harold Bowman and the late Marie Barber Bowman. Ben would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. He helped others in different situations. He would lend a hand with whatever was needed. Ben was a great athlete growing up. He played football as a nose guard from fourth grade through high school. Ben enjoyed hunting for turkey and deer, as well as fishing. He worked as a carpenter building residential homes with his uncles. Survivors include his father, Harold Lawrence Bowman of Cookeville; two brothers, Ryan Bowman of Mobile, AL, and Matthew Bowman of Pell City, AL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Barber Bowman and sister, Shonda Renee Wright.
