Low Voter Turnout Across The Upper Cumberland Tuesday

Election officials across the Upper Cumberland reported low voter turnout Tuesday, most attributed the limited turnout to rain and typical lack of interest in primary elections. New Voting Machines On Display At Putnam Elections Office

Putnam County residents can test out the new Microvote machines at the Putnam County Elections Office Monday and Tuesday. The office updated all of its voting machines in accordance with Tennessee State Law that now requires machines to leave a paper audit. Byrdstown Voters Decide Against Legal Sale Of Liquor By The Drink

The liquor referendum in Byrdstown has failed based on unofficial results of the November election. One hundred and sixty-seven voters went against the legal sale of liquor. One hundred and twenty-three city residents voted for the legal sale. The referendum was placed on the ballot after the Byrdstown Board of Aldermen approved it in August of this year. Read More »

Over 45 Percent Of Putnam Votes Came Early Or By Mail Ballot

Over 45 percent of Putnam County’s registered voters have voted early or by absentee ballot. About 20,000 votes have already been counted with zero precincts reporting results from Election Day. About 19,000 registered voters came to the polls early with 2,500 sending in their ballots. Almost 48,000 residents are registered in the county.
