The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of a 90 year-old Rickman woman over the weekend. A caregiver arrived on Saturday to the home of Euretha Williams on Bradley Qualls Lane. The caregiver noticed a broken window, gained entry to the home and found the woman deceased inside. A 21-year-old Fentress County man faces charges of statutory rape after a TBI investigation. Stewart Dwain Matthews turned himself in Wednesday evening to the Fentress County Sheriffs Department. TBI Crime Report Shows Putnam County Decrease

A TBI crimes report released Wednesday Putnam County crime decreased 24.5 percent in 2019 from 2018. Reported crimes such as aggravated assault and vandalism declined last year.
