A Livingston man was injured Thursday morning when he collided with a tractor-trailer while merging onto Interstate 40. 20-year-old William Oliver of Livingston suffered minor injuries and was transported to Cookeville Regional. Truck Driver Dead After Overturning On I-40 In Putnam

An I-40 accident turned fatal after Freightliner overturned near mile marker 287. Cumberland County Sheriffs deputies and Crossville Police ended a high speed chase down I-40 Sunday with the arrest of a North Carolina man. Data Shows Highway 111, I-40 Intersection Traffic Lights Improved Safety

Last year’s installation of traffic lights at the Highway 111/I-40 intersection in Cookeville has increased safety. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 18 months before installation, the intersection saw 18 accidents with six ending in injury. The Jefferson Avenue widening project is still in its property acquisition phase, but remains on track for bidding in March 2021.
