The Cumberland County Board of Education has accepted a bid to make improvements to Martin Elementary School. Cumberland County’s First Reported COVID-19 Death Tuesday

Cumberland County reported its first COVID-19 death Tuesday with 70 positive cases. The Tennessee Department Of Health reports 10 deaths across the Upper Cumberland. Van Buren’s 2nd Case, Putnam To 106 Saturday

The number of Putnam County cases increased to 106 Saturday with Van Buren County reporting a second case. The Tennessee Department of Health reports 9.189 cases statewide. More than 141 thousand people have been tested. 178 people have died from COVID-19 in Tennessee. Better than 84 percent of those deaths have occurred among people 61 years of age or older. ... Average 1,200 Tested In Putnam & Cumberland

An average of 1,200 residents have been tested in Putnam and Cumberland Counties for COVID-19. Putnam County reported 101 positive cases from 1,225 people tested in Friday’s report from the Tennessee Department of Health. Cumberland County has tested 1,178 with 67 positive tests. Comptrollers Office: UC Needs More Judges

The Upper Cumberland needs more judges. That’s according to a state comptroller’s report showing a growing deficit in the 13th Judicial District. The report showed the 13th district has a deficit of 1.3 full-time equivalent judges based on 2019 statistics. The search for a location for the Upper Cumberland State Veterans Cemetery has resumed after a land deal in fell apart. Paul Overholser is the Strategic Development Director for the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services. Expect I-40 Delays In Eastern Cumberland Co

Expect delays on I-40 in Cumberland County this week as T-DOT crews conduct paving and milling around mile marker 326.
