Putnam County has extended the deadline to submit bids for site preparations at the new Expo Center Fairgrounds Complex.
Mayor Randy Porter said at the request of vendors, the bid opening date will now be June 1st. Porter was originally set to open sealed bids Tuesday.
Porter has said the project would prepare anywhere from 160 to 195 acres on Tennessee Avenue. Porter has said that the dirt work could cost up to $3 million.
The location will house an expo center, a conference building, and venues for concerts and tournaments. Porter said there would be a 300-stall barn, 3,500 new parking spaces, and an arena with the capacity for 7,500 covered seats.
