Overton School Board To Discuss Facility Options For Stadium Renovations

The Overton County Board of Education will meet with architects Tuesday for some final discussions of facility options for the Livingston Academy football stadium.

Member Mike Hayes said the school board will be presented with two possibilities.

“They’re gonna talk about the options for the concession stands and restrooms,” Hayes said. “Look at whether we’re going to do one building combined for both concessions and restrooms or do two buildings and separate it sort of like we have now.”

Hayes said another point of discussion, a solution for two light poles that are in the way of the home side bleachers switching sides. Hayes besides that, everything else is in place for work to begin.

“There is no work to the actual field that has to be done,” Hayes said. “Some dirt work and things around where the bleachers are going to go and some work for the walkway and things around where it is going to be paved out. Hopefully, it will be pretty quick and get to work pretty quickly.”

The school board has $4.3 million allocated for the renovations. The price tag includes 2,500 seat bleachers on the home side, 1,000 seats for the visitors, paving and facilities.

“Everything now is still as planned, so there is no updates,” Hayes said. “Obviously, they come back and have a different price than what we approved. We got to look at different options and try to figure out get in that range.”
