New Urologist Brings Innovative Treatment Opportunities To CRMC Patients

The newest member of Cookeville Regional Medical Center’s urology team brings the capability of new and innovative procedures.

Dr. Robert Parham has over 14 years of robotic experience, allowing the facility to re-introduce robotics as a treatment option. Parham said he also brings a new treatment option for female incontinence called bulkamid.

“The reason I actually really like this opportunity is, number one, I’m able to bring something of added value for the patients in terms of quicker recovery and getting the patients home faster,” Parham said. “But more importantly, it gives me a chance to work with a good urology team.”

Parham joins Dr. Lee Moore, a long-standing physician in the community, Dr. Rick Smith, and Dr. Aaron Moore, another young urologist. Parham said he’s also excited to serve as a mentor to other young doctors joining Cookeville Regional’s team.

Parham said he also hopes that by growing the urology team, he can patients receive care faster than previously available.

“I know when Dr. Moore was the only provider, it was a little more difficult to get in and get seen,” Parham said. “Hopefully with the team we have now, we’ll be able to make that easier for folks.”

Parham said in his previous practice, he enjoyed being able to work with medical students and help them in their studies. He said he hopes to impart wisdom to younger doctors that his mentors gave to him.
