Tennessee Tech hosts its Annual International Friends Banquet Saturday.
The banquet showcases international students attending Tennessee Tech as well as their host families.
Tennessee Tech Assistant Director of International Education Amy Miller said the evening will be open to the public for the first time.
“The purpose of the banquet is to get the international students and host families together to have a nice dinner,” Miller said. “It’s just to become more familiar with other cultures and other languages and to meet the international students that are here at TTU.”
Tech partially caters the event but students, families and faculty also bring dishes for that international flare.
“Students and faculty and the host families bring in food from other countries,” Miller said. “We encourage the students to cook something from their country to share. There’s a lot of variety of international food that’s there for people to try.”
The event will be held Saturday night in the Tech Pride Room of the Roaden University Center. The evening of food, music and fun begins at 6pm.
