Farm To Table Dinner Raising Funds

Fresh ingredients and revitalizing downtown, the aims of the Main Street McMinnville Farm to Table Dinner Saturday night.

Main Street McMinnville Executive Director Jennifer Slatt-Meredith said they hope to raise funds to match 25 percent of a $300,000 revitalization grant the city received last year. Slatt-Meredith said the improvements can help the downtown keep up with the growth.

“We need to be able to revitalize that side of where we are getting this growth so we don’t have broken sidewalks or any utility problems,” Slatt-Meredith said. “And we want McMinnville to look beautiful all the way up and down our whole city limits and the historic district, so it is very important for us to continue the growth of the economic development of McMinnville.”

The farm-to-table dinner gathers local farmers and restaurant owners to use fresh ingredients to make a delicious meal. Slatt-Meredith said the menu will consist of sirloin, filets, steaks, and even a salad. Slatt-Meredith said the food will be “Bon appétit!”

Slatt-Meredith said the event has been a good way to bring the community together for the betterment of McMinnville. The dinner will begin at 6:00pm Saturday at the Farmers Market.

“Everything that we utilize is actually local from Warren County,” Slatt-Meredith said. “The flowers, decorations, music, entertainment, the food, and all of that. It’s all locally grown here and we use it here.”

Slatt-Meredith said the event has been successful in years past. Slatt-Meredith said she expects a great crowd this year.

“We are expecting a great crowd,” Slatt-Meredith said. “It’s always a really good time.”

The city recently brought back the dinner last year after the COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to the yearly fundraiser.
