Cumberland Teen Faces Vandalism Charges

A Crossville teenager detained by the Department of Childrens Services kicked out the rear windows of a DCS Transport vehicle Monday.

Police called to the Exxon Station on Highway 127 North to respond to an unruly teenager. As police arrived, the juvenile was hanging out the window of a van. The juvenile, a black teenager, began shouting obscenities at both police and DCS.

According to the police report, DCS staff said the teenager did not want to go where he was being taken and kicked out the windows. Crossville Police arrested the teen and held in juvenile detention until a new van could transport him.

The underaged teenager now faces vandalism and escape charges.
