Celina city employees will receive an extra day off this holiday from the Board of Aldermen.
Mayor Luke Collins said the time off will serve as a floating day. Collins said department heads will work with employees to stagger the schedule.
“That way the day to day operation of the city continues, but the employee still gets rewarded with a day off,” Collins said. “I appreciate so much the Aldermen doing that. I think it’s great.”
Collins said city employees have worked hard this past year and deserve the time.
“We have a great and outstanding group of employees,” Collins said. “I think it really sends a message to our employees that they are appreciated.”
